This links-style course is situated at the base of a valley surrounded by Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood, Tri-Mountain Golf Course offers a picturesque vista and natural beauty. The award-winning greens are medium-sized, and water hazards (eleven lakes) come into play on over half the holes. Add to this, 64 sand bunkers and you can see part of the challange.
Tri-Mountain has a very open layout, with wide targets and minimal trees. The course is built amid shapely rolling terrain, but the overall topography is flat. Tri-Mountain plays relatively short given it’s ample layout, so longer hitters will want to play the blue tees. Despite providing generous landing spaces, there are plenty of challenges that do exist, namely, water and bunkers. There are a lot of greenside ponds. And closer in, all of the greens are guarded by lots of sand traps and grass bunkers. A sand landing is often favorable, as some of the rough, specifically near green-side collection areas, can get very thick. The greens, which also provide ample landing area, are a standout quality at Tri-Mountain. They’re not extremely difficult to read, but they are in superb shape, and offer a very true roll. The wonderful condition of the greens also contribute to fast speeds in season.
The most difficult hole is #14, a 384-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg left fairway with a lake at the turn and a small landing area, then an approach shot to a small green. Three of Washington's most famous mountains provide for spectacular scenery: Mount St. Helen's, Mount Adams, and Oregon's Mount Hood.
Tri-Mountain golf course facility also has an aquatic driving range. They also have a great short game facility with a standard putting green, but also, a nice chipping green with steep bunkers. In addition, they have a miniature golf course, with real turf surfaces.

generally a good golf experience here. the layout and challenges are above average for my skill level. (low 90's) my last outing though, about 3 greens were in sub standard condition, and no apparent effort to repair them.

Only down side is they have no marshal at all. I can deal with slow play, rude behavior, beginners, drunks and general morons, but when all that is rolled into the foursome ahead of you, you're pretty much just out of luck. Sure, you can get a refund, but now your day is shot and your round incomplete.

Easy walking course, relatively flat with short walks from green to tee. Better than average greens; good greenskeeper who takes pride in his work. Course difficulty is compounded by a prevailing NW wind that blows over the course almost every summer afternoon.

Only one side open til spring for irrigation project. Much more costly in summer - a little above average price. More difficult courses in the area for the same price.

Very challenging links style course in the middle of the northwest, ambience suffers just a little as two holes are close to I-5 and the noise can be pretty loud. Otherwise this is a fun course.
